Yo yo yo happy mother's day mom

So I WAS going to post a blog I wrote about something spirit'chal today, but then I remembered it's MOTHERS DAY and that I love my mom Terri a whole lot.

SO I wrote a rap-poem for her. And this is it:

Mom, u r da heezy,

U make luvin look so easy.

U did me so good

Even tho we lived in da hood.

Wit hands made of luv

U give me güd back rubs.

Motha keep it up

Cuz u gon win da world cup.

Really, we never lived in the hood, but my mom has been such a big inspiration and support to me! I love her so much and I'm so grateful for her in my life!

Also,  I had a whole section of this blog dedicated to the emotions my mom makes me feel, but Blogger won't allow me to post emojis (get on that, Google!), so I made this YouTube video for her instead.

OK, so I don't actually do important things, I just like to say the word "important." But I AM interesting and fun and I promise that this will be a fun blog. YAY!

So I'm from what I like to call THE DESERT, which is actually just what people call the area of California where I'm from because it's A DESERT. Specifically, it's the desert-y area right outside of L.A. It's hot and has lots of poisonous animals and music and yeah I love it.

If someone asked if tacos were my second or third favorite food, I would say neither CUZ THEY'RE FIRST. IMPORTANT.

I also really like swimming and playing sports, especially bocce ball. My favorite pastimes include the Victorian era and baking. I also really liked it when they explored space. IMPORTANT.

I look a lot like Janis Joplin and I like to think that I have her free spirit in my body. THE DESERT is kind of a hub for emerging indie artists, so a lot of my friends in middle school and high school were people who eventually went on to write and perform music professionally.

I spent a lot of my time working backstage at cool shows, hanging with the band members, being in music videos (Heard of MTV much?), and other things that kids my age would’ve loved.

But it wasn’t all cool. I was actually missing out on a lot of the IMPORTANT things in life, I just didn’t know it until a couple of white kids in white shirts and ties showed up at my door. DUH they were missionaries and NO I didn’t love everything they taught me or even think it was true. “Joseph Smith? Wives? Heck nah.”

But I made super IMPORTANT friends at church and stuff. They were really inclusive and helped me in lots of IMPORTANT ways, but I still didn’t want to change or have a reason to change.

Then one night at a young women’s activity, I felt something called THE SPIRIT and it changed things importantly in my life. My life priorities changed and I came to know the Church was true.

I had to change who I hung out with and how I spent my time. It was a complete lifestyle change, but I’ve gotten way happier than I’ve ever have been before. IMPORTANT. The Gospel is so worth and so true. IMPORTANT.

When I graduated high school last year, I decided to move up to Provo to hang with more Mormons. I work as a social media marketing specialist at an adventure park here in Utah. And it's a blast.

Now I'm just a curvy redhead who shakes her boot-tay and gets the boys and bakes and has a good times all the times.

Soooooo, that’s me. Spesh spesh. And true. IMPORTANT.
